My 2024 gift to the industry that’s given me so much

After a decade in the coworking business, I’m looking back on my journey and giving a gift to the community. I want to share what I’ve learned so you can experience the same freedom from space constraints that I have. It’s my way of giving back to an industry that has meant so much to me.

It’s that time of the year again when we are all inspired to reflect on the year gone by and push ahead with a renewed sense of urgency to tackle our mountains. Ever since I started in the coworking business ten years ago, my mountain has been making coworking an attractive business, beyond the very satisfying community-building side of things. 

Early on in our journey, we realized that Virtual Offices were the key to increasing our revenue scalably beyond the square feet of our spaces. And so we began to assign resources to grow our Virtual Office memberships, tackling and testing different traction channels to go to market more effectively. We crafted an intentional strategy, set annual goals, and built an accountable team to reach them. We started scaling significantly and then found ourselves buried in postal mail and overwhelmed by postal regulations. As a result, we created PilotoMail, a mail and compliance management software that has helped us, as well as dozens of coworking operators around the world, reduce their liability and set the stage for scalable Virtual Office growth.

Today, 40% of our revenue base comes from Virtual Offices and we’re much more profitable than the 19% industry standard. That’s a stark contrast when compared to 48% of coworking spaces worldwide that are not profitable, according to the latest Deskmag survey.   

Reflecting on this past year, after having the privilege of serving and learning from so many of my industry colleagues, I realized that over these past two years, I have been steadily climbing a new mountain. My mountain is no longer about me or my business, it is about you and yours. If I can share everything that I’ve learned over the years and gift you the same kind of freedom from square feet bliss that I’ve experienced, then I will have given back to an industry that has given me so much throughout the years. 

That is why I’m so excited to share the news on the upcoming launch of our Freedom from Square Feet (FFSF) Hub!

This Hub will provide you with everything you and your team need to start and perfect your Virtual Office growth strategy. It will feature 3 distinct pillars: FFSF Learning, FFSF Community, and the FFSF Launchpad. The FFSF Learning pillar features an 8-week course designed to teach you everything we know about structuring, launching, and scaling Virtual Offices.
